According to Jin10, on May 18, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun confirmed that Beijing and Washington have reaffirmed their shared goal of denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula, in response to the White House’s May 17 statement on the outcomes of the U.S.-China leadership summit. Guo stated that China remains committed to promoting a political resolution to the Korean Peninsula issue and will continue making constructive efforts to ease tensions and maintain regional peace and stability.
