Chinese Stock Indices Fall Sharply on June 8; Shanghai Composite Down 1.7%, Shenzhen Component Down 3.22%

According to Jin10, Chinese stock indices fell sharply on June 8 (Monday). The Shanghai Composite Index dropped 68.4 points (down 1.7% to 3,959.34), the Shenzhen Component Index fell 493.51 points (down 3.22% to 14,821.19), and the ChiNext Index declined 146.15 points (down 3.69% to 3,811.79). The Tech-focused STAR 50 Index posted the steepest loss at 4.3% (down 71.76 points to 1,596.57).

In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index fell 304.89 points (down 1.22% to 24,657.06), while the Hang Seng Tech Index dropped 132.48 points (down 2.71% to 4,755.91). European indices showed modest weakness, with the DAX 30 down 0.59%, while U.S. markets closed mixed: the S&P 500 rose 0.30%, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.86%, though the Dow Jones Index fell 0.16%.
