According to the Ethereum Foundation announcement on Monday, Will Corcoran, Kev Wedderburn, and Fredrik were named new co-leads of the Protocol cluster. The reorganization comes as prominent developers Barnabé Monnot and Tim Beiko plan to depart the organization, while Alex Stokes goes on sabbatical.
Fredrik leads Protocol security research including the Trillion Dollar Security project, Wedderburn leads the zkEVM team, and Corcoran has contributed to post-quantum security and other R&D efforts. All three researchers have worked on cross-team initiatives. Corcoran stated the team is “continuing our work toward Glamsterdam, Hegotà, and the Strawmap” roadmap upgrades.
