According to ChainCatcher, citing Humility Protocol's official statement on X, H token on Ethereum and BSC suffered a coordinated attack yesterday (June 8), with $36 million in assets confirmed stolen and liquidated. The attack originated from a compromised employee computer, leading to the exposure of private keys controlling the Hyperlane Bridge ProxyAdmin multi-signature wallet. Attackers obtained 3 of 6 private keys on Ethereum's Gnosis Safe, transferred ProxyAdmin ownership, and upgraded the bridge contract to a malicious version, moving approximately 141.2 million H tokens in a single transaction. On BSC, attackers similarly obtained 3 of 5 private keys, deploying a malicious contract with unlimited minting capabilities that issued 200 million H tokens to their wallets. Humility Protocol has suspended all deposit and withdrawal operations on affected bridge services, is coordinating with exchanges to mitigate losses, and is cooperating with law enforcement to recover stolen funds.
