According to Japan’s Tohoku Electric Power Company, radioactive vapor was detected on May 15 in a drainage pit beneath the turbine building of the Onagawa Nuclear Station Unit 2 in Miyagi Prefecture. In response, the company decided to halt the reactor for inspection.
