Gate News message, April 22 — OpenAI has committed to investing up to $1.5 billion in a new joint venture with a private equity firm, aiming to compete with Anthropic and capture the growing market for enterprise artificial intelligence tools. The company will initially invest $500 million in equity, valuing the venture at $10 billion, with a funding round expected to close in early May.
OpenAI has the option to add a further $1 billion in future investments. The venture, internally named “DeployCo,” has begun recruiting its own staff and has attracted employees from OpenAI. The venture will charge clients fees to help embed AI technology into their business operations.
