According to Pi Core Team's June 9 announcement, all mainnet node operators must complete the Protocol 25 upgrade by June 18, 2026, or risk losing network connection. The upgrade is part of Pi Network's sequential protocol migration roadmap, with nodes progressing from Protocol 24.1 to 25.2 in strict order. Most nodes should experience less than five minutes of downtime during the migration, though operators are advised to upgrade nodes in batches rather than simultaneously to maintain network stability.
