I've heard about cryptocurrency arbitrage for a long time, but I never really understood it myself... finally, I decided to figure out what it’s all about. Turns out, it’s a pretty simple idea—you buy crypto cheaper on one platform, sell it higher on another, and profit from the difference. Sounds logical, but why does it actually work?

It’s because the prices for the same coin can vary significantly between different exchanges. The reasons are straightforward: different numbers of traders, delays in updating quotes, plus regional differences in supply and demand.

There are several types of arbitrage, and I haven’t decided where to start yet. The first is inter-exchange arbitrage, where you simply buy on one platform and sell on another. The second is intra-exchange arbitrage, where you exploit price differences between trading pairs on the same exchange, for example, ETH/USDT being cheaper than ETH/BTC. Then there’s triangular arbitrage—you exchange currencies through multiple pairs on one platform, like USDT → BTC → ETH → back to USDT. And there’s regional arbitrage—buy in one country and sell in another via P2P.

To get started, you need to create accounts on several exchanges, fund your accounts with stablecoins like USDT or USDC, and constantly monitor prices using bots or websites like CoinMarketCap. The main thing is not to forget about fees, or you could easily end up losing money. Speed also matters—using TRC-20 or BSC for quick transfers is preferable.

A simple example: BTC costs $96,000 on one platform and $96,100 on another. Buy where it’s cheaper, transfer, and sell. Profit is $100 minus fees. That’s basically cryptocurrency arbitrage.

But there are pitfalls. Fees can eat up all your profit. While you’re transferring crypto, the price might change and drop. Some exchanges limit withdrawal amounts. Plus, there’s always a risk of account blocks due to regional restrictions or suspicion of fraud.

Overall, arbitrage is a real way to make money if you plan everything carefully. But I’m not sure I fully understand all the details. I’d be happy to hear opinions from those who have already tried it or know more about it. Maybe someone wants to share their experience with cryptocurrency arbitrage?
