Abu Dhabi's LNG Vessel 'Umm Al Ashtan' Reappears in Persian Gulf After Two Weeks Without Signal

According to Jin10 Data, on June 25, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company's LNG carrier 'Umm Al Ashtan' reappeared in the Persian Gulf near the company's LNG export facility on Das Island, signaling a return of maritime transparency following the U.S.-Iran temporary peace agreement. The vessel had not transmitted signals for approximately two weeks before reappearing on Wednesday, indicating it traversed the Strait of Hormuz with its transponder disabled. As security conditions around the Strait improve, more vessels are now activating their transponders when entering and exiting the Persian Gulf. At least six empty tankers have transited the Strait since Monday, with most broadcasting their locations.
