AFX Cross-Chain Bridge Exploited, $24.15M USDC Drained Overnight on Arbitrum

According to Blockaid, the cross-chain bridge operated by Arbitrum ecosystem protocol AFX was compromised overnight at 5:30 Beijing time on July 23, with approximately $24.15 million USDC drained. Blockaid said it is coordinating with the Arbitrum team to respond to the incident and assist in freezing stolen funds. Offchain Labs co-founder Steven Goldfeder clarified on X that the compromised bridge was operated by a third-party protocol and that Arbitrum's native bridge remained unaffected.
