Alphabet Adds 11,830 Employees in Year, Q2 Hiring Surges Over 4,000; Revenue Rises 24% YoY

According to Business Insider, Alphabet's headcount grew from 187,103 to 198,933 employees in the year ended June 30, 2026, adding 11,830 staff net. Q2 alone saw hiring surpass 4,000, marking the largest quarterly increase in recent years and accounting for more than one-third of the annual growth. Revenue for the period reached $119.8 billion, up 24% year-over-year. The company raised its 2026 capital expenditure guidance to $195–205 billion, citing sustained demand for AI infrastructure exceeding available capacity.
