Anthropic Launches Claude for Teachers, Offering One-Year Free Access to U.S. K-12 Educators

According to Beating, Anthropic launched Claude for Teachers on July 15, providing verified U.S. K-12 teachers one year of free access to Claude's advanced version through June 30, 2027.

The teacher edition integrates Learning Commons, enabling Claude to access curriculum standards across all 50 U.S. states and reference educational resources like OpenSciEd to generate lesson plans. The tool can also adapt materials based on student proficiency levels, analyze classroom data, and automate routine administrative tasks. Teacher conversations are not used for model training, and student data is governed by specialized K-12 privacy policies. The program is currently available to individual teachers; school and district versions remain under development.
