According to BlockBeats, on June 26, Apple and Microsoft raised prices across major hardware product lines. Apple increased MacBook Neo's starting price from $599 to $699, MacBook Air to $1,299, and MacBook Pro to $1,999. iPad Pro prices jumped from $999 to $1,199, while iPad Air rose to $749.
Microsoft followed hours later, citing storage chip cost increases. Xbox Series S 512GB rose $100 to $499, Series S 1TB and Series X 1TB each increased $150 to $599 and $799 respectively, and Xbox Series X digital edition reached $749. Analysts attribute the price hikes to elevated demand for HBM and NAND storage chips driven by AI capital expenditures, tightening consumer electronics chip supply and raising costs.
