According to GoPlus Security, attackers are increasingly using artificial intelligence to identify and exploit vulnerabilities in legacy smart contracts deployed years ago. Recent incidents include a June 9 attack on the 7-year-old Token of Power (TOP) contract on Ethereum resulting in approximately $1.5 million in losses, a May 25 exploit of the 3-year-old WUSD.fi contract causing roughly $200,000 in damages, and two consecutive June attacks (June 14 and June 18) on Aztec Network's 2-year-old contracts totaling over $4 million in losses.

GoPlus Security recommends that projects adopt continuous AI-based audit services to address the limitations of traditional security approaches in covering historical smart contracts, citing the ability to perform comprehensive security checks in short timeframes while balancing reliability and costs.
