Aztec Labs Acquires ZKPassport Privacy Tool, Hires Co-Founders Michael Elliot and Theo Madzou on May 28

According to The Block, Aztec Labs acquired Obsidion, the company behind the open-source privacy identity verification tool ZKPassport, on May 28. Co-founders Michael Elliot and Theo Madzou, along with their team, have joined Aztec Labs and will continue developing ZKPassport. ZKPassport allows users to read passports or government ID documents via NFC on mobile devices, generate encrypted signatures locally, and verify age, nationality, and identity without exposing full personal data. Aztec Labs said it will keep the ZKPassport protocol and iOS app open-source.
