Bank of England Governor Warns Frontier AI Cyber Risks Accelerated Financial Threats by 2-3 Years

According to Andrew Bailey, Bank of England governor, frontier AI cyber risks have moved up financial system threats by two to three years. Speaking recently at Investment Association conference in London, Bailey identified frontier AI as the central bank's top challenge, noting the world has suddenly accelerated events originally expected within one to three years. He added that the exponential growth curve of AI capabilities requires extensive system patches and fixes.
