According to CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost, long-term Bitcoin holders with 5 to 10 year holding periods have recently shown increased on-chain activity, with daily UTXO (unspent transaction output) movements exceeding 5,000 BTC on multiple occasions. Such movements typically stem from two reasons: wallet security upgrades or asset sales.
However, the analyst noted that funds have not flowed significantly to cryptocurrency exchanges, suggesting these long-term holders are not engaging in large-scale BTC selloffs. This activity occurs as Bitcoin tests the 6,000 level, mirroring market conditions observed in February and March 2026.
