Bullish Acquires Equiniti in $4.2 Billion Deal to Merge Tokenized Securities With Transfer Agent Services

According to Reuters and CoinDesk, crypto firm Bullish agreed to acquire global transfer agent Equiniti in a $4.2 billion deal combining blockchain-based infrastructure with traditional shareholder services. The transaction, expected to close in January 2027 pending regulatory approvals, comprises $1.85 billion in assumed debt and approximately $2.35 billion in stock. Equiniti serves nearly 3,000 issuer clients, manages relationships with roughly 20 million shareholders, and processes about $500 billion in annual payments. The combined entity is projected to generate approximately $1.3 billion in adjusted revenue and over $500 million in adjusted EBITDA for 2026 on a pro forma basis, according to Investing.com.
