California Launches Nation's First AI-Unemployment Tracker on June 25

On Thursday, June 25, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced the launch of the nation's first AI-Unemployment Tracker, a public dashboard designed to monitor whether artificial intelligence is contributing to job losses in the state. Developed by the California Employment Development Department and UCLA researchers, the dashboard will update monthly and track unemployment claims across occupations with high AI exposure. State officials say the data will help identify where workers may need retraining or other support.
