China and UK Hold 15th Joint Economic and Trade Committee Meeting; Beijing Raises Concerns Over Steel Tariffs on July 2

According to Jin10, on July 2, Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wenzhao and UK Secretary of State for Business Kair co-chaired the 15th China-UK Joint Economic and Trade Committee meeting in London. The two sides exchanged views on trade, investment, and regional cooperation. Wang expressed that China welcomes UK enterprises to expand investment in China and urged Britain to provide a fair and non-discriminatory environment for Chinese businesses. China voiced serious concerns over UK steel quota measures that took effect on July 1, hoping the UK adjusts them to comply with World Trade Organization rules. Kair welcomed Chinese investment and expressed willingness to strengthen cooperation in services.
