China Delivers First Qilin-Class Submarine to Pakistan on May 9

According to China’s Defense Ministry, on May 9, the first Qilin-class conventional submarine built by China was delivered to Pakistan in Sanya, with Pakistan’s president and naval chief attending the handover ceremony. Defense Ministry spokesperson Colonel Jiang Bin confirmed the transfer represents normal equipment cooperation and demonstrates the countries’ all-weather strategic partnership. He noted that China and Pakistan have deepened military collaboration in strategic communication, joint exercises, personnel training, and equipment technology in recent years.
