China Issues AI Application Guidance on July 27; Domestic Models Dominate Global Ranking With 33 Trillion Token Weekly Calls

On July 27, China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued "Digital Product and Service Cultivation Guidelines (2026 Edition)," encouraging AI technology integration across enterprises and promoting AI-driven intelligent decision-making beyond rule-based systems.

According to OpenRouter data, global AI large language models logged 58 trillion tokens in weekly calls, with Chinese models accounting for 33 trillion tokens—14.1 times higher than U.S. models at 2.34 trillion. China's five top-ranked models are all domestic, led by Xiaomi's MiMo-V2.5 with 10.5 trillion weekly tokens, followed by DeepSeek-V4-Flash at 6.37 trillion.
