China Issues First Red Alert for Rainstorm This Year on July 11

According to China Meteorological Administration, on July 11 at 10 a.m., the agency issued its first red alert for rainstorm this year. Heavy rainfall is expected from 2 p.m. on July 11 to 2 p.m. on July 12 across multiple regions including Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Beijing, Hebei, and Taiwan. Some areas, particularly in northeastern Beijing, central Hebei, northeastern Fujian, and central Taiwan, are forecast to experience torrential rainfall with local precipitation of 250–800 millimeters. Short-duration heavy rainfall and localized severe convective weather including thunderstorms and hail are also expected.
