According to Jinshi Data, China’s Foreign Ministry Legal Adviser Qi Dahai delivered a keynote speech at the Global Mediation Forum held in Hong Kong on May 8, 2026. The forum was attended by Hong Kong Chief Executive Lee Ka-chao, Chinese Foreign Ministry Commissioner Cui Jianqun, International Mediation Institute Secretary-General Zheng Ruoya, and Hong Kong’s Secretary for Justice Lin Dinguo. In his remarks, Qi emphasized that mediation helps maintain relationships, rebuild trust, and achieve mutual benefits, particularly amid complex global challenges. He stated that China, as a founding member and host of the International Mediation Institute, is committed to fostering an international dispute resolution ecosystem centered on understanding and applying mediation.
