China's National Energy Administration Projects Installed Power Capacity to Reach 5.4 Billion Kilowatts by 2030

According to a State Council Information Office news conference on June 26, China's National Energy Administration Director Wang Hongzhi forecasted that the country's installed power capacity will reach 5.4 billion kilowatts by 2030, up from the current 4 billion kilowatts. New energy sources will account for over 50% of installed capacity and become the primary power generation source, while non-fossil energy generation will reach 50% of total electricity generation. Coal and oil consumption are expected to peak by 2030.
