Chinese Enterprises' Belt and Road Investment Falls 7% to 85.55 Billion Yuan in Jan-Apr 2026

According to China's Ministry of Commerce, Chinese enterprises' non-financial direct investment in Belt and Road Initiative countries totaled 85.55 billion yuan in January-April 2026, down 7 percent year-over-year. Separately, Chinese companies signed new contracting project deals worth 497.3 billion yuan with Belt and Road nations during the same period, up 6.8 percent year-over-year, with completed business revenue reaching 318.72 billion yuan, up 16 percent.
