Chongqing Issues First High-Temperature Red Alert of 2026, with Peak of 40-42°C on July 14

According to Chongqing Meteorological Bureau, the agency issued the year's first high-temperature red alert on July 14 at 9:20 a.m. The alert predicts that between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. on July 14, 31 districts and counties including Yuzhong, Shapingba, Dadukou, Jiulongpo, and Nan'an will see peak temperatures reaching 40-42°C, while seven other districts including Wansheng Economic and Technological Development Zone and Nanchuan will experience highs of 37-40°C.
