Citigroup Raises S&P 500 Year-End Target to 8,100 on Strong Earnings Momentum

According to Citigroup strategists, Citigroup raised its year-end 2026 target for the S&P 500 to 8,100, up from 7,700, citing strong corporate earnings momentum. The bank noted that historically, bull markets have typically ended following aggressive interest-rate hiking cycles; however, the Federal Reserve has not yet begun raising rates and is still expanding its balance sheet, suggesting the current bull market structure remains intact. Citigroup strategists also indicated the firm favors U.S. equities and emerging Asian markets, while maintaining a neutral stance on European markets.
