Cloudflare Tests Show Anthropic Mythos Preview Can Chain Vulnerabilities Into Working Attacks

According to Cloudflare, the security model Mythos Preview demonstrated the ability to autonomously write code and chain multiple low-risk vulnerabilities into executable proof-of-concept attacks in tests of over 50 codebases today. In testing, the model not only identified isolated system flaws but went further by generating attack chains—writing and compiling code that triggers the vulnerabilities, reading error messages to self-correct, and iterating until successfully breaking through the full attack path. This marks a significant capability advancement compared to prior models like Opus 4.7 or GPT-5.5, which typically stopped at vulnerability analysis without generating functional exploits.
