According to CME Group, nearly 15,000 of its new 1-Ounce Gold futures contracts traded during the inaugural weekend of its 24/7 trading schedule, representing approximately $60 million in notional value. Though small relative to CME's broader gold futures complex, which averages $125 billion in daily notional trading, the volume demonstrated investor demand for regulated around-the-clock access to the gold market.

The launch includes support from Robinhood Derivatives, giving retail investors instant digital access to gold futures outside traditional market hours. "Our launch demonstrates that retail traders were ready and waiting for always-on, regulated and right-sized products to manage their exposure to gold," said Jin Hennig, Managing Director and Global Head of Metals at CME Group.
