CME Copper and Natural Gas See Volume and Open Interest Gains on July 16

According to CME data, on July 16, energy and precious metals futures showed mixed performance. Copper trading volume reached 38,868 contracts with 262,138 open positions, up 626 and 853 contracts respectively from the previous day. Natural gas volume was 502,060 contracts with 1,673,209 open positions, increasing 102,203 and 3,287 contracts. In contrast, WTI crude oil volume declined to 728,578 contracts with 1,860,328 open positions, down 188,725 and 7,292 contracts. Brent crude fell to 131,638 contracts with 245,861 open positions, down 60,457 and 1,473 contracts. Precious metals showed mixed activity: gold volume increased to 147,981 contracts but open interest declined to 383,937; silver volume rose to 49,502 contracts while open interest dropped to 104,610.
