CME Precious Metals, Crude Oil Futures Show Mixed Activity on June 9; Gold, Silver, Copper Up; Natural Gas Down

According to CME data, on June 9, precious metals and crude oil futures displayed divergent trading patterns. Gold, silver, and copper all posted gains in both volume and open interest. Gold volume rose 4,471 contracts to 160,487, with open interest increasing 1,689 contracts to 332,845. Silver volume climbed 4,129 to 79,165, and copper jumped 7,253 to 90,135. Brent crude oil also rallied, with volume up 3,827 and open interest adding 1,718. WTI crude volume surged 37,678 to 925,630, though open interest fell 11,330. Natural gas reversed course, with volume declining 26,383 and open interest dropping 5,512.
