Cyprus Joins EU European Security Initiative, Becomes Sixth Member State to Access €150 Billion Defense Financing on June 1

According to CCTV News, Cyprus on June 1 officially signed the European Security Initiative agreement, becoming the sixth EU member state to join the mechanism. The initiative provides a total of €150 billion in financial support for member states to procure defense and security equipment. Funds are offered as long-term loans with favorable interest rates, with 35% of borrowing available for weapons components produced outside Europe.
