ECB's Moulin: AI Likely to Increase Inflation Volatility

According to Emmanuel Moulin, ECB Governing Council member and Governor of Bank of France, artificial intelligence may exacerbate inflation volatility while making the overall impact on inflation difficult to predict. In comments published by Investir, Moulin noted that since AI acts on both supply and demand variables simultaneously, its total effect on inflation is particularly hard to forecast and could manifest not only in inflation levels but also in inflation swings.
