Europe Records Over 4,000 Excess Deaths as Heat Wave Sweeps Continent on July 3

According to the World Meteorological Organization and CCTV, Europe recorded over 4,000 excess deaths from a heat wave on July 3. France alone has documented nearly 7,000 wildfires since the start of summer, exacerbated by drought and strong winds. The WMO warned that El Niño conditions may increase extreme weather risks in the coming months.
