Foreign Investors Return to South Korea Stock Market, Net Buy 7.02 Trillion Won Over Four Trading Days

According to Chosun Biz, foreign investors resumed net buying on South Korea's stock market from July 21-24, accumulating net purchases of 7.02 trillion Korean won over four consecutive trading days. The buying spree concentrated on semiconductor large-caps, with SK Hynix purchased for 1.434 trillion won and Samsung Electronics for 1.377 trillion won, accounting for about 45% of total inflows.

Securities analysts noted improved conditions for foreign investor returns, citing easing AI investment concerns following Alphabet's stronger-than-expected Q2 results and capital expenditure forecasts, as well as won stabilization—the dollar-won exchange rate fell to 1,470 range from 1,550 won in early July. However, analysts cautioned the trend may be temporary rather than a sustained reversal, with upcoming U.S. big tech earnings and Federal Reserve decisions critical to confirming true momentum.
