According to UBS, global memory chip sales reached $74.6 billion in June, hitting an all-time high with a month-over-month increase of 31.7%. DRAM sales accounted for approximately $48 billion (up 27.7%), while NAND Flash surged to $25.8 billion (up 40.7%), driven by rising AI data center demand.

UBS forecasts structural undersupply to persist until at least mid-2028, as HBM (high-bandwidth memory) demand surges. The bank projects 2026 HBM demand will increase 90% year-over-year to approximately 33.1 billion Gb, with a further 77% jump to 58.7 billion Gb expected in 2027.
