Gate News message, April 26 — Hong Kong’s Financial Secretary Chen Maobo published a commentary titled “Converging Greater Energy Through Innovation and Collaboration,” outlining the latest perspectives on global asset allocation trends and ETF market development. Chen emphasized that global investors are accelerating the diversification of their asset allocations, reducing reliance on single markets or individual assets.
As investment themes evolve, the range of assets tracked by exchange-traded funds (ETFs) continues to expand, extending from precious metal spot and futures contracts, technology and semiconductor companies, to digital assets. Chen noted that these ETF products, covering different themes and featuring varying leverage characteristics, provide investors with efficient and transparent multi-asset investment tools.
The diversification of ETF offerings reflects broader shifts in how institutional and retail investors are managing portfolio risk and seeking exposure to emerging asset classes.
