Hong Kong Stocks Open Mixed: Hang Seng Index Up 0.17%, Tech Index Rises 0.34%

Gate News message, April 20 — Hong Kong stocks opened on April 20 with the Hang Seng Index rising 0.17% and the Hang Seng Tech Index climbing 0.34%. Oriental Securities surged 13.53% at open following a major announcement.

Oriental Securities announced on April 19 that it is planning to acquire 100% of Shanghai Securities through a combination of issuing A-share stock and cash payment. The company’s A-share stock was halted from market open on April 20, with a suspension period not expected to exceed 10 trading days.

Other gainers included Cambridge Technology up 7.57%, Blue Focus Technology up 6.82%, Aunt Shu Dairy up 6.58%, and Pony.ai-W up 5.97%. Long-light Semiconductor fell 3.93% and Sige New Energy declined 3%.
