According to Lloyd's List Daily, at least 54 vessels transited the Strait of Hormuz during May 11-17, up from 25 the previous week. The report noted that despite continued U.S. restrictions on ships entering and leaving Iranian ports, shipping traffic through the waterway increased significantly. The report highlighted that a liquefied natural gas carrier operated by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company entered Gulf waters with its automatic identification system disabled.
