HSBC Divests Singapore Life Insurance Business to Allianz for SGD 2.7 Billion

According to Moody's, HSBC has agreed to sell HSBC Life Singapore to Allianz for SGD 2.7 billion (approximately HKD 16.373 billion) on July 24, 2026. The two banks will also establish a 15-year exclusive bancassurance distribution agreement, under which HSBC Bank Singapore will exclusively distribute HSBC Life Singapore insurance products to its retail banking and wealth management clients in the city-state.

Following the distribution agreement, HSBC will receive an initial one-time cash payment of SGD 200 million (approximately HKD 1.213 billion). The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to be completed in the first half of 2027.
