According to Jin10 data, on May 13, truck drivers in India faced severe fuel supply challenges, with one coal truck driver traveling nearly 80 kilometers and checking 15-16 fuel stations without finding diesel. The driver was eventually forced to stop as the fuel tank ran nearly empty. A fuel station manager stated that stations typically can meet only about one-third of demand before fuel runs out. The shortage stems from private fuel retailers cutting diesel sales or raising prices in response to rising international oil prices, straining state-owned refineries. India’s Oil Minister Puri stated on Tuesday that no fuel shortage exists in India.
