Intel Seeks Partner for Ohio Fab Project, Stock Rises 0.8% Ahead of Q2 Earnings

According to Semfor on Wednesday, Intel is seeking a partner to help operate its upcoming Ohio semiconductor manufacturing campus, with South Korean memory chipmaker SK Hynix among those being considered. The Ohio fab project, announced in January 2022 with an initial $28 billion investment, is scheduled to begin operations between 2030 and 2031. Intel shares rose 0.8% in overnight trading Thursday ahead of the chipmaker's second-quarter earnings report after market close.
