Gate News message, April 22 — Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on April 22 called the U.S. military’s March strike on the Iranian Navy destroyer Denah an “unprecedented war crime,” according to a statement from Iran’s Foreign Ministry. During a phone call with Sri Lanka’s Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath, Araghchi said the Iranian people will never forget the attack, which he claimed violated fundamental principles of international humanitarian law and the 1949 Geneva Convention.
Iran vowed to deploy all legal and political means to hold the perpetrators and commanders responsible for the strike.
