Iran Closes Strait of Hormuz to All Vessels on June 11, Threatens to Strike Any Transiting Ships

According to Iran's Supreme Joint Military Command, on June 11, Iran prohibited all types of vessels, including oil tankers and commercial ships, from transiting the Strait of Hormuz. Any ship attempting to pass through will be struck, the command said in a statement reported by the Islamic Republic News Agency. The move follows what Iran described as continued U.S. military aggression and attacks on southern regions.
