Iran's Kharg Island Resumes Oil Loading, First VLCC Berthed Since May Shutdown

According to Wonward, a U.K.-based maritime analytics firm, satellite imagery on June 4 confirmed Iran's key oil export hub Kharg Island has resumed loading operations. A very large crude carrier (VLCC) berthed at the western offshore terminal—the first vessel to dock since the facility halted in early May due to suspected oil leakage. Both major export terminals resumed simultaneous loading operations on June 3, indicating Iran is actively restoring its crude export capacity.
