Iran's National Team Wears Badges Commemorating 168 Children on June 7, Arrives in Mexico for World Cup

According to state broadcaster CCTV, Iran's national football team arrived in Mexico on June 7 wearing badges inscribed with "Minab 168" to commemorate 168 children killed in the city of Minab. Iran Football Federation Chairman Mehdi Taj stated on June 13 that the team's mission is to participate in the World Cup in the name of "Minab 168."

The badges reference a February 28 airstrike on a school in Minab in southern Iran, which killed over 160 people, predominantly children around 10 years old.
