Iraq's Crude Oil Exports Plunge to 10M Barrels in April Amid Israel-US-Iran Conflict

According to Iraq’s Oil Minister Basim Muhammad al-Houdailyar on May 17, Iraq’s crude oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz fell to approximately 10 million barrels in April, down sharply from around 93 million barrels monthly before the conflict escalation. The minister stated that Iraq plans to increase flow through the pipeline connecting Kirkuk to Turkey’s Ceyhan port to boost export capacity. Iraq also plans to engage with the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to enhance its export capabilities.
