Italian Nuclear Company Newcleo to List on Nasdaq via SPAC Merger at $2.4B Valuation

According to Reuters, Newcleo announced on May 28 that it has agreed to merge with NewHold Investment Corp III to list on Nasdaq. The merger is expected to value the Italian nuclear company at $2.4 billion, with total proceeds reaching up to $429 million. The transaction is anticipated to close in the second half of 2026. Newcleo, founded by Italian physicist Stefano Buono, is developing advanced modular lead-cooled fast reactors and nuclear fuel made from reprocessed nuclear materials.
