Jay-Z's Marcypen Partners with Hanhwa to Launch K-Entertainment Investment Platform

According to Chosun Ilbo, Jay-Z's investment firm Marcypen and South Korea's Hanhwa Asset Management have established MarcyPen Asia, a specialized asset manager focused on K-entertainment investments. Marcypen serves as the majority stakeholder while Hanhwa acts as a financial investor in the joint venture.

The partnership, formalized following a memorandum of understanding signed in December 2025, aims to expand investment into Korean entertainment while broadening scope across Asian entertainment sectors including Japan. The original plan contemplated a separate fund of approximately $500 million, but the two firms opted to create an independent operating company to better support long-term platform development and business expansion.
